Conor Gallagher to Atletico Madrid (again )
Beginning with the biggest - and most controversial - transfer. Conor Gallagher is a lifelong Chelsea player. He is symbolic of the club and appreciated by the fans as a hardworking loyal Blue. But the hierarchy decided that he must be shipped on as they try and bring in pure profit.
Tottenham registered an interest in the 24-year-old but it was Atletico Madrid that pushed for the move.
The transfer was set to be €40 million on a five-year deal that would keep him in Madrid until 2029. But complications arose and he has found himself back at Chelsea. It's thought that a deal is still very much on the cards but formalities are still yet to be sorted.
Joao Felix to Chelsea
Chelsea have agreed a permanent deal with Atletico Madrid to sign Joao Felix, with a medical set for this week. It's also a deal that means that Gallagher's transfer to the La Liga club is back on the cards.
Felixwill sign a six-year contract with Chelsea that includes the option for a further year, reports Sky Sports.
The Portugal international spent six months on loan at Chelsea during the second half of the 2022/23 season. During that period, he scored four goals in 16 Premier League appearances. He is eager to make a return to Stamford Bridge as the club continues to be one of the most active clubs in the window.
Mikel Merino to Arsenal
The uncertainty surrounding Mikel Merino's future seems to be coming to an end. Reports suggest the matter of moving to Arsenal is nothing more than a formality for the Real Sociedad midfielder.
Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is eager to bring the 28-year-old to the Emirates, and partner in a double pivot with Declan Rice for the new season.
Personal terms won’t be a problem as FootballTransfers reported and Arsenal's primary midfield target could potentially join for a transfer fee of up to €35m. The club are looking to move out Thomas Partey in the same breath. The former Atletico man has just under a year left on his deal at the Emirates.
Ivan Toney to Al-Ahli
Despite extensive links to the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United, Ivan Toney could be on the move to Al-Ahli.
The Guardian reports that the Saudi Pro League club are considering whether to raise their offer for Brentford’s striker after their initial bid of approximately €39m was turned down.
Toney was notably absent from Brentford's squad in their recent victory over Crystal Palace. Thomas Frank, the Bees' coach, remained relatively coy on the matter when pressed by a reporter before the match on Saturday, but it's clear that a move is looking likely.
Scott McTominay to Fulham
Fulham have revived talks with Man Utd over a possible deal for Scott McTominay, reports the Daily Mail.
Napoli is interested too but would prefer a loan, as they cannot afford the Red Devils' valuation.
The midfielder has just one year remaining on his contract at Old Trafford, although the club has the option to extend it for a further 12 months.
The 27-year-old has made over 250 appearances for the club since making his debut in April 2017 and would represent pure profit.
