OFFICIAL: Man City star Julian Alvarez completes €95m Atletico transfer
Julian Alvarez has officially joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City.
The Argentine World Cup and Copa America winner has had his wish fulfilled. Alvarez demanded to leave Man City due to being unhappy about his lack of minutes, particularly in big games, and he has now moved to Spain.
On Tuesday, August 6, Man City and Atletico Madrid reached an agreement for an eye-watering transfer, with the LaLiga giants potentially shelling out as much as €95 million for the 24-year-old.

The striker has cost Diego Simeone's side €75m upfront, while a further €20m could have to be paid out in bonuses in the future if he meets certain criteria.
It is a club-record sale as far as Man City are concerned, with the Premier League champions pocketing a massive profit on their €21.4m investment.
Alvarez unlocks Chelsea domino
In making the move to Atletico, Alvarez has inadvertently caused a transfer domino. Positive talks with Man City over the 24-year-old convinced the Madrid outfit that Samu Omorodion was no longer untouchable.
This allowed Chelsea to finally make progress in negotiations over Omorodion, with the Blues having pursued the 20-year-old all summer.
However, despite a deal having been all but agreed, the move collapsed at the final hurdle, leaving Chelsea and Atletico to scramble for a different solution as the latter are also signing Conor Gallagher.

Atleti will pay €40m for the England international, while it is not yet clear who Chelsea will buy in return, though it increasingly looks like they will re-sign Joao Felix.
As for Gallagher, he ultimately had little choice as he was faced with the prospect of rotting on the bench at Chelsea after being informed that he would only be a squad player under Enzo Maresca.
In addition to Gallagher and Alvarez, Atletico have also signed Alexander Sorloth and Robin Le Normand in what has so far been absolutely massive transfer window for the LaLiga side.
