Man Utd add trio to first-team squad
Manchester United have added trio Harry Amass, Toby Collyer and Ethan Wheatley to their first-team squad ahead of their Community Shield clash against Manchester City.
The Red Devils face their arch-rivals at Wembley Stadium later today. The pair faced off at the famous ground in June, where Man Utd beat the reigning Premier League champions to the FA Cup.
Ahead of the match later this afternoon, Erik ten Hag has included three youngsters in his squad. Amass has received rave reviews for his outings in the club's pre-season tour of the States. Collyer also made minutes while Wheatley earned game-time for the senior squad last season.

It's thought that Amass will start for Man Utd after Luke Shaw failed to achieve fitness for the game. The 17-year-old has been registered with the club for a year after turning down moves to Man City and Chelsea.
Amass made five appearances for the under-18s last season, including in the U18 Premier League National final against Chelsea, in what was a 2-1 win for his side.
Last February he began training with the first team at Carrington and was promoted to the under-21s before the beginning of March and made three appearances in Premier League 2. In April, Amass broke into the senior squad and was placed on the substitutes bench for six consecutive Premier League matches without finding game-time.
Man Utd search for new left-back
Man Utd are looking to bring in a new left-back with fitness concerns with Shaw and Tyrell Malacia ongoing, according to reports.
Malacia has been missing since the end of the 2022-23 campaign and so the club have held talks the representatives of Fenerbahce left-back Ferdi Kadioglu, reports the Mirror.
Arsenal are not believed to be in the running of the 24-year-old Turkey international despite the links. As well as the Euro 2024 star, free agent Mario Hermoso had been offered to Man Utd after he quit Atletico Madrid at the end of last season.
The player has attracted interest from Italy and Saudi Arabia but no deal has been concluded. Hermoso recently signed with agency CAA Base and they are offering him out to clubs.
