EXCLUSIVE: Man Utd consider Andre move as Wolves step up interest
Manchester United are keeping Fluminense midfielder Andre as an option but it's Wolverhampton Wanderers who are stepping up their pursuit, FootballTransfers understands.
The Red Devils have had further talks with Jorge Mendes and Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for Manuel Ugarte and we are told that a breakthrough is close.
As we revealed earlier this month, the deal will be an initial loan with a buy obligation for the former Sporting CP man. PSG want €60 million, an amount Man Utd are not willing to pay upfront, but it's believed that a deal will be concluded by the end of the transfer window.

But Man Utd do remain keen on Andre. We broke the news that a move to Fulham had broken down this window. Sources claim that the midfielder is hopeful of a Premier League switch. The Red Devils have made an approach for Andre, but it's Wolves that are leading the chase for the Brazil international, who shares the same agent as Joao Gomes.
We understand that a deal would be worth somewhere between €25 million and €30 million and that Wolves are exploring the structure of any transfer with Fluminense, who are open to a sale.
Andre's Premier League switch
Andre was linked to Liverpool last summer but a move never materialised. West Ham launched a proposal at the time, but it was knocked back by Fluminense. Fulham had put a lot of legwork in signing the 23-year-old and he was believed to be their replacement for Joao Palhinha, who left for Bayern Munich this window for €51m.

But the club left the table after failing to reach an agreement with Fluminense. It's not clear whether they will make a late-gasp return in an attempt to bring Andre in for at a reduced rate, but it's Man Utd and Wolves that are in talks for the Brazilian.
Despite his young age, Andre has played 175 matches in all competitions for Fluminense, scoring four goals. FootballTransfers' Estimated Transfer Value algorithm ranks him at €6.2m, with his contract up at the Maracana Stadium December 2026.
