Federico Chiesa is keen to join Liverpool - and this could be good news for Manchester United.

The Red Devils are trying to offload Jadon Sancho. Despite his rapprochement with Erik ten Hag earlier this season, it is clear that the Dutchman is still not convinced by the winger.

Sancho has been omitted from Man Utd's opening games of the new Premier League season and is allowed to leave the club. Chelsea have emerged as tentative suitors but a lot of things will have to fall into place for a deal to be possible.

The 24-year-old would have to take a pay cut, while the Blues would have to resolve the future of Raheem Sterling first as well. The latter is open to leaving Stamford Bridge in a potential swap deal with Sancho but is currently determined to sort out his exit conditions with Chelsea.

Juventus may be a more realistic destination for Sancho despite the fact that they have signed two wingers in recent days in Nicolas Gonzalez and Francisco Conceicao and are on the verge of sealing a big-money deal for Teun Koopmeiners.

Chiesa could unlock Sancho

Juventus are hoping to land Sancho on loan and, unlike Chelsea, are in active negotiations with Man Utd and the player's camp. United, however, would only sanction a loan if Sancho's salary is covered and a purchase obligation is included.

The Bianconeri may not have the funds to pull this off as things stand, having spent lavishly this summer. But the picture could change if they manage to sell exiled star Federico Chiesa.

This is where Liverpool come in. Man Utd's hated rivals have opened talks over a potential move for Chiesa. While any potential deal is still in the earliest possible stage, Chiesa is keen on the move, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian transfer expert also claims that the deal is 'on' as the player is available for just €15 million. While that figure may not be enough to match Man Utd's €40m asking price, it could go a long way towards finally unlocking the Sancho saga in the final days of the window.
