Man Utd Transfer News Today: Ugarte CLOSER THAN EVER, Andre POSSIBLE, Kone medical ANNOUNCED
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United football transfer news updates, including the latest on Manuel Ugarte, Andre, and Sekou Kone.
Man Utd are keeping Fluminense midfielder Andre as an option, but we are told that Wolves are stepping up their pursuit.
It's been a long drawn-out saga but the Red Devils have had further talks with Jorge Mendes and Paris Saint-Germain over a deal for Manuel Ugarte and we are told that a breakthrough is close.
As we revealed earlier this month, the deal will be an initial loan with a buy obligation for the former Sporting CP man. PSG want €60 million, an amount Man Utd are not willing to pay upfront, but it's believed that a deal will be concluded by the end of the transfer window.
Andre is an option but the central midfielder is not considered to be a likely option for the Old Trafford club.
Kone to Man Utd done
Manchester United will be patient with the new signing of Sekou Kone, sources inform us.
The defensive midfielder moved from Guidars FC and was recognised after his standout performances for Mali at the U17 World Cup last year.
We are told that the club will nurture him and give him the time and care he needs to settle into the club and country. Kone will initially be used in the Under-21s for Man Utd at Carrington but will get opportunities to train with the first team, too.

Man Utd not fazed by Yoro injury
Man Utd are relatively unfazed by the injury picked up by Leny Yoro in pre-season, according to David Ornstein.
The Athletic reporter told Duncan Castles exclusively on the Transfers Podcast, powered by FootballTransfers: "Leny Yoro is out injured, but Manchester United didn’t sign him for the immediate term, he’ll be at United I suspect for many years to come.
"He’s regarded by brighter footballing minds than me, as being of the foremost if not the foremost young centre-back in European football. United can be proud and excited about when he gets back to fitness and settles in”.
Romano on Sancho and Barcelona
Barcelona are not in talks with Manchester United over Jadon Sancho, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils winger continues to be the subject of intense speculation. Left out of Man Utd's Premier League opener against Fulham, there is a keen interest to see whether Sancho will be part of the squad for Saturday's game with Brighton.
But Romano has put paid to that idea. “Barca are looking at opportunities on the market like Kingsley Coman, who is still a name to watch, as well as Federico Chiesa, who is available,” he told CaughtOffside. Chiesa is also represented by the same agent who looks after Marc Pubill, another player that’s being linked to FC Barcelona.
“Despite the reports, there are no updates on Jadon Sancho and Barca so far. There are several other opportunities on the market and Barca will take some days to decide, so we will wait and see what’s going to happen there.”
