Man Utd Transfer News Today: Sancho deal BLOCKED, New Odegaard WANTED, Ugarte MEDICAL
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Manchester United football transfer news updates, including the latest on Jadon Sancho, Ivan Toney and Manuel Ugarte.
Jadon Sancho update
There is ‘little’ chance that Jadon Sancho will leave Manchester United for Juventus before the end of the transfer window, according to Italian reporter Gianluca di Marzio.
United and Juve had been in talks with United over a deal for Sancho, which could have seen the winger join the Serie A giants on loan with an obligation to buy.
However, Di Marzio has claimed the deal is ‘on hold’ as the finances are proving ‘onerous’ for Juventus, despite seeing Federico Chiesa leave for Liverpool.

Juve are still working to try and bring Sancho in but the club are also satisfied with their summer business and feel no need to force anything after winning their opening two Serie A games.
Sancho had been open to a move to Juventus but some reports had also claimed that the 24-year-old is holding out to a move to Chelsea, who are also in talks over a deal.

Ivan Toney talks
Manchester United have held initial talks with Brentford over a possible late move for Ivan Toney, as per The Evening Standard.
The Red Devils’ interest had died down following the arrival of Joshua Zirkzee, but they have reportedly now rekindled their interest in the England forward.
However, the report states that joining Chelsea remains Toney’s focus.
Manuel Ugarte medical
Manuel Ugarte has completed his medical ahead of his transfer from Paris Saint-Germain to Man Utd.
As exclusively reported by The Transfers Podcast, Man Utd will pay an initial €50m for the Uruguay international, plus a further €10m in potential add-ons.
Ugarte is expected to be announced by the Red Devils very shortly.
Scott McTominay is in Naples
Scott McTominay has been pictured in Naples ahead of his transfer to Napoli.
A full agreement has been reached for the Man Utd midfielder to join the Serie A giants and he will undergo his medical today ahead of a move worth roughly €30m.
McTominay has been allowed to leave Man Utd following the purchase of Ugarte, and Napoli have won the race for his signature amid competition from Fulham and others.
Sekou Kone medical
Sekou Kone is currently having his Manchester United medical, and the deal is expected to be finalised soon.
The defensive midfielder has been picked up by the Red Devils from Guidars FC, and as FootballTransfers previously revealed, the plan is to ease him into life at the Premier League side.
Man Utd eye Nypan move
Manchester United are set to rival Arsenal for the signature of one of Norway's brightest young prospects; midfielder Sverre Nypan.
The 17 year-old Nypan plays for Rosenborg in his native Norway and is one of the brightest prospects to emerge from the European nation since the likes of Martin Odegaard and Erling Haaland.
As he is under 18 a transfer would not be possible now, but Christopher Michel of fussball.news reports that Arsenal are interested in bringing Nypan to North London in January 2025 so he can learn from Odegaard.
However, Michel also reports that Man Utd are very aware of the young playmaker. And although they haven't formalised their interest, it's notable that Nypan himself is a massive Manchester United fan.
"It would obviously be a dream come true to play for Manchester United," he said on the United Norway Podcast. "I’m aware United has shown some interest."
Noussair Mazraoui on Man Utd transfer
Man Utd signing Noussair Mazraoui has opened up on his move from Bayern Munich to Old Trafford this summer.
He told Viaplay (as per Sport Witness): “I wanted to make a move to another club this summer.
“When I heard the Manchester United option, I knew I wanted it. That immediately felt good, but I had to wait until they sold the other right back. You don’t just say goodbye to Bayern, but I was ready for something different.
“That was due to many things, but I don’t want to talk about that. I always wanted to go to the Premier League but knew that after Ajax I would take an intermediate step. No sooner said than done.
“Fortunately, the first impression was good, it felt that way to me too. That’s a relief.
Everything is new, so things can very easily go wrong. What I really liked is that they can also really appreciate a defensive action here, such as a good tackle or a good interception.”
