Manuel Ugarte deal in 'final stages'

Fabrizio Romano has reported that Man Utd's move for Manuel Uagrte is drawing to a close.

The Italian reporter tweeted: "As revealed last week, #MUFC want to proceed with loan + obligation to buy and meeting with PSG was positive.

"No bids for Ederson — Man Utd want Ugarte, details being discussed. Deal at final stages."

The Red Devils reportedly submitted a €50 million offer for Atalanta midfielder Ederson, despite the imminent arrival of Paris Saint-Germain’s Manuel Ugarte, though now Romano has knocked back that claim.

The club have been chasing a new central midfielder for the past few months. FootballTransfers reported recently that a deal for Ugarte is likely to be finalised before the end of the summer transfer window.

PSG have remained consistent with their €60 million asking price - a figure deemed too steep by Man Utd - but a loan deal with an obligation to buy is now being touted as a legitimate solution, as we revealed.

Man Utd look at Fulham defender

Man Utd will push to sign Robinson if they are unable to hijack Brighton and Hove Albion’s move for Ferdi Kadioglu.

The 27-year-old has been linked with numerous top Premier League clubs over the past year and Man Utd are ready to pursue the USA international during the final few days of the summer window.

Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are both currently injured, and Erik ten Hag’s side are monitoring multiple left-backs as they eye a solution.

According to Turkish media, Man Utd are hoping to hijack Brighton’s deal for Fenerbahce defender Kadioglu, but the versatile defender looks set to snub the Red Devils in favour of a move to the AMEX Stadium.
