Man Utd star could reunite with club legend De Gea - and unlock Ugarte
Fiorentina are exploring the feasibility of a deal for Victor Lindelof, according to Italian media.
The Manchester United defender has slipped further down the pecking order following the acquisition of Matthijs de Ligt for up to €50 million. Though usually reliable, Lindelof has no future at Old Trafford and will be allowed to leave.
In fact, Man Utd are actively trying to offload the Swede in a bid to raise enough funds to finally be able to sign Manuel Ugarte from PSG. Man Utd remain locked in talks with the French club and are unwilling to match their €60m-€70m asking price.

Ugarte has been dropped by PSG for their season opener, which is a clear sign that they expect the Uruguay international to eventually depart. Even before De Ligt was signed, it was thought that Lindelof would have to be sold to have the funds available for further business.
That didn't materialise, but now with De Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui at the club, it is clear that Man Utd desperately have to sell before they can continue to buy.
Lindelof to link up with De Gea?
According to Di Marzio, Fiorentina are the latest club to explore the feasibility of a move for Lindelof. The 29-year-old was previously linked with the likes of Fenerbahce, but his suitors baulked at the financial package required to land him.
Fiorentina will likely face the same issue, but the closer we get to the end of the transfer window, the more willing Man Utd might be to compromise.

Plus, La Viola could have some money to spend soon with Nico Gonzalez in talks with Juventus and ex-Red Devils Sofyan Amrabat still pushing for a move - ideally, back to OId Trafford.
In Florence, Lindelof would, of course, link up with Man Utd legend David de Gea again, who recently ended his 13-month free agency to join Fiorentina. As things stand, though, a potential deal is still at a very, very early stage.
