The Hammers have seemingly landed another transfer coup. Having already signed the likes of Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Jean-Clair Todibo, to name but a few, West Ham have now also secured the signature of Wan-Bissaka.

The Congo DR international arrives from Man Utd in a deal worth roughly €17.5 million, with the 26-year-old penning a multi-year contract at the London Stadium after lengthy negotiations with the Red Devils.

Wan-Bissaka has thus ended his largely unsuccessful five-year stint at Man Utd in which he failed to live up to his whopping €55m price tag. Though he did have the occasional good run of form, he ultimately never managed to fulfil the promise he had shown at Crystal Palace.

Wan-Bissaka unlocks Mazraoui

As far as Man Utd are concerned, their agreement with West Ham for Wan-Bissaka unlocked the deal to sign Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The latter had made him available for transfer and Man Utd pounced, with West Ham having initially tried and failed to land him.

Mazraoui arrives at Old Trafford in a deal worth up to €20m as the latest of Erik ten Hag's former Ajax protégés. His signing is a risk as the Moroccan has been quite injury-prone in recent years.

In fact, there is an argument to be made that Mazraoui is not an upgrade on Wan-Bissaka, but it remains to be seen how he will fare under his new/old coach in Manchester.

Man Utd's signing of the 26-year-old was entirely contingent on West Ham moving for Wan-Bissaka as they had to first raise funds. The Red Devils also had the option of Denzel Dumfries on the table as the Dutchman was as keen on the move to Old Trafford as Mazraoui.
