Newcastle must pay 'superstar money' for Guehi
Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has told Newcastle United to pay “superstar money” for Marc Guehi.
Eddie Howe’s side have submitted three separate bids for Guehi, the latest reportedly in the region of €70 million, but they have been unsuccessful in their pursuit of the England international.
Crystal Palace have already sold Michael Olise to Bayern Munich so far this summer, and Parish isn’t willing to let Guehi leave unless he receives an offer deemed too good to turn down.

The Palace chairman told Sky Sports: “Nobody has got to the valuation yet. If you want a superstar player you need to pay superstar money.
“It’s not near the point where we have to make a decision. We love having him and would love to keep him.
“If someone else wants to have him they need to make it really difficult for us. He’s a generational talent.”
EXCLUSIVE: Palace rekindle interest in Lacroix amid Guehi’s talks with Newcastle
Guehi has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United in recent months, but Newcastle are currently leading the race for his signature.
The Magpies are actively searching for a new centre-back this summer and Guehi is their priority target as things stand.
However, they will need to submit a new and improved offer if they want to land the England international before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
Despite Crystal Palace’s huge asking price, Guehi’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at just €38m.
Marc Guehi to Newcastle?
If Newcastle decide to match Palace’s asking price for Guehi, Chelsea will be in line to earn a small fortune due to the 20% sell-on clause they included in the deal that saw the Englishman move to Selhurst Park in 2021.
Furthermore, FootballTransfers understands that Crystal Palace have rekindled their interest in Wolfsburg defender Maxence Lacroix as they eye possible replacement for Guehi.
Bayer Leverkusen’s Odilon Kossounou and Chelsea’s Trevoh Chalobah have also been linked with Oliver Glasner’s side.
