Sterling to Arsenal confirmed

Raheem Sterling’s loan move from Chelsea to Arsenal was belatedly announced, with the former Liverpool and Manchester City winger joining the Gunners without a purchase option or an obligation to buy.He is, however, apparently looking forward to a new start at the Emirates Stadium, where he has spoken of being attracted to the togetherness of Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Sancho goes to Chelsea

The other big deal announced on Saturday was Jadon Sancho’s switch to Chelsea from Manchester United, which was not made official until the evening. Sancho had initially been part of a swap proposal with Sterling, but this proved impossible.Chelsea have an obligation to buy the former Dortmund winger should they finish above 15th in the Premier League table. Huge questions will be asked of Enzo Maresca’s side if they fail to achieve that.

Osimhen chaos

No one really expected Victor Osimhen to still be hitting the headlines after the transfer window closed, but after failing to find a move away from Napoli, his career has been sent into a tailspin. The Serie A club have left him out of their squad for the season, with Romelu Lukaku taking his No.9 shirt and marking his debut with a vital goal.

Varane faces termination threat

Former Manchester United defender Raphael Varane faces the prospect of having his Como contract sensationally torn up after playing just 23 minutes for the club.Cesc Fabregas has left the centre-back out of his Serie A squad for the forthcoming season because of a thigh injury.
