Tottenham have been in the market for a centre forward for over 12 months and The Transfers Podcast, hosted by Duncan Castles, has been informed that Ange Postecoglou’s side have now reached an agreement to sign Solanke.

The Englishman scored 19 Premier League goals last season, a tally only bettered by Erling Haaland, Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak, and he is expected to provide competition for Richarlison at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Nathan Ake is currently Bournemouth’s most expensive sale of all time, with the Cherries earning €45.3m from the Dutchman’s move to Manchester City in 2020.

However, Solanke will surpass this after Bournemouth accepted a club-record transfer fee from Tottenham.

Back in June, The Transfers Podcast revealed that Bournemouth were open to selling Solanke this summer, and after working on a deal for the Englishman, Spurs have now agreed a fee with Andoni Iraola’s side.

Solanke has spent the past five-and-a-half years at Bournemouth after joining the club for €21.2m from Liverpool in January 2019.

He has netted 77 goals in 216 appearances for the Cherries and he played a key role in their promotion back to the Premier League in 2021-22.

Tottenham’s summer transfer business

So far this summer, Tottenham have completed the permanent signings of Archie Gray from Leeds United and Lucas Bergvall from Djugarden.

A deal has also been agreed to sign Min-hyoek Yang from Gangwon FC in January, and Timo Werner has returned to the club on loan with RB Leipzig after spending the second-half of last season in north London.

In addition, Tottenham have sold Joe Rodon to Leeds for €11.8m, while Eric Dier, Ryan Sessegnon, Tanguy Ndombele, Ivan Perisic and Japhet Tanganga have left on free transfers.

Furthermore, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Bryan Gil and Alejo Veliz have been sent on season-long loan deals.
