It’s not all about Osimhen! Gyokeres’ incredible finish a timely reminder to clubs
Viktor Gyokeres gave suitors around Europe a reminder of his qualities as Sporting CP thumped Nacional 6-1 away from home on Saturday.
Gyokeres was on target twice in the match, scoring his side’s third from the penalty spot early in the second half before an unbelievable finish for Los Leoes’ final strike of the afternoon will have made managers across the continent sit up and take notice.
It is from the Premier League that the most interest is coming for the Sweden international. Chelsea and, particularly, Arsenal are following the 26-year-old, but there is also interest from PSG, who lost forward Goncalo Ramos for three months due to an ankle injury on Friday.

Gyokeres’ opener on Saturday, which was his second of the season, will have left onlookers cool given it was from a generously awarded penalty, but his second was blistering.
Running into the right channel, he took a couple of touches before sending an outstanding shot beyond the visiting goalkeeper and into the top corner of the net.

Arsenal, Chelsea and PSG in Gyokeres hunt
With the market having less than two weeks to run, it was a valuable reminder of what he can do.
The chase for a striker is set to heat up. Chelsea have failed to land Samu Omorodion and continue to be frustrated in their attempts to land Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, who is also the player that PSG have been most closely linked with.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are huge fans of Gyokeres. The former Coventry forward had been made the Gunners’ priority in the spring, as exclusively revealed by FootballTransfers, yet they have been put off by Sporting’s insistence that he will move for at least €100 million. His Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is only €26.9m.
It is unlikely that Sporting get their wish of such a big fee, but with the Portuguese side chasing Vitor Roque, who is being pushed unceremoniously out of Barcelona, it certainly appears that they are readying themselves to lose the player.
Across all competitions this season, Gyokeres has three goals and three assists in only three games.
