The defender is in the final 12 months of his contract. There were reports that the right-back is thought to be demanding a significant payoff to leave the club, but that has seemed to cool.
The move will allow the Red Devils to pursue a deal for Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui.
Mazraoui deal also agreed
According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Man Utd have, at last, reached an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer of Matthijs de Ligt for €45 million plus a potential €5m in add-ons to match the Bundesliga side's €50m valuation, as well as a deal with Bayern for Noussair Mazraoui in what is a separate transaction.
Man Utd will pay €15m plus €5m in add-ons for the full-back, who is known for his versatility - being able to play both sides of defence.

For Bayern, these two deals now mean that they can proceed with the signing of German international Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen. The latter had recently demanded a guarantee from the Bavarians that they would match the champions' demands, but this was not forthcoming.
Despite a deadline having now passed, German media still expects Bayern to complete the signing of Tah now that funds have been freed up via the sale of De Ligt.
