Rabiot's mother sets record straight on star's future with scathing reply
Veronique Rabiot has delivered a scathing reply to Juventus coach Thiago Motta after he revealed that he would have liked to keep the Frenchman.
The 29-year-old is still a free agent after leaving Juventus early on in the summer upon the expiration of his contract. The Bianconeri had made him a lucrative extension offer, but it was turned down by his camp, led by mother and agent Veronique.
The eccentric parent has been accused by fans and even some media outlets of being 'greedy' as she is demanding a 'pharaonic' salary for her son, which has so far put clubs off from making a determined effort to sign Rabiot.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder was offered to Man Utd several times over the course of the summer, but the Red Devils decided against making a move despite their long-standing interest.
Though he can be signed at any time, squad registration deadlines could prove to be a problem for the free agent, although there are also loopholes that can be exploited.
Rabiot bites back
France boss Didier Deschamps recently stated that Rabiot finds himself in an 'embarrassing situation,' but according to Juventus boss Thiago Motta, this predicament could have been avoided.
He publically revealed that he had wanted to keep Rabiot around, but that the player decided to pursue different options. "He did not call me," Motta said. "I like him as a boy and a player but he has taken a different path and I wish him to be happy in finding a team where he can express his talent."

This seemingly benign statement has now prompted a prickly response from mother Veronique, who told L'Equipe: "There is no need to close the door, returning to Juventus was not an option considered. When we make decisions, we take responsibility for them."
The French outlet adds that the player's future will be resolved "in the coming days," though his mother did not provide comment on the matter.
