Romano reveals truth behind exit rumours for Man Utd star whose value has plummeted €50m
Fabrizio Romano has revealed the truth behind rumours linking Manchester United winger Antony with a late move to Fenerbahce.
The transfer window in Turkey remains open until next week, with Antony’s clubmate Casemiro strongly linked with a move to Galatasaray.
Doubts over that transfer have been fuelled by the astronomical wages of the Brazil international, but could compatriot Antony be off to the Super Lig?

The form of the 24-year-old has frequently come under fire since he made a monster €95 million move from Ajax in the summer of 2022.
In 83 matches, Antony has scored only 11 goals and delivered five assists, which is a desperately poor return for one of Man Utd’s most expensive players ever.
With a wage in the region of €240,000 (£200,000) per week, the former Sao Paulo winger is one of United’s biggest earners, and having played just a minute of football this season is someone they may wish to clear off their books, despite a lack of depth in the wide areas.

Antony makes transfer stance clear
If the club’s intention is not yet entirely clear, Romano has clarified the plans of Antony.
“No truth in Antony-Fenerbahçe links from Turkey as he’s fully committed to Man Utd project,” he said on X. “No intention to leave the club this summer, as always stated by those close to the Brazilian winger.”
Antony’s transfer value has collapsed since he moved to Old Trafford.
Shortly after completing his switch to Man Utd, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) hit a peak of €76.8m, yet it has now fallen nearly €50m back to €28m. This is below what he was worth during his time at Ajax.
Antony’s value is set to continue to deteriorate while he remains peripheral under Erik ten Hag while the Brazilian has three years left on his lucrative deal.
