Paris Saint-Germain watched over Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes recently, according to reports.

The defender was the difference-maker as the Gunners beat North London rivals Tottenham in their derby match at the weekend, with the Brazilian's towering header securing a 1-0 victory for Mikel Arteta's men.

Now TBR Football are reporting that PSG are scouting the centre-back. The site wrote today: "Paris Saint-Germain were represented at the derby, to watch both Gabriel and his centre-back teammate William Saliba."

But it's thought that Arsenal are hoping to tie the player down on an extended contract. At the moment, his contract runs until 2027 but the report states that his side are hopeful that it can be prolonged, though it does not say for how long.

It comes after rumours linking their other defender, Saliba, with a move away from the Emirates. He has been extensively linked with a switch to the Parc des Princes. And back in July, Real Madrid were thought to be keen on buying the Frenchman.

Real Madrid, it is said, will look to pounce next summer as they continue their assault other European giants, snapping up their star players.

The European champions had Lille wonderkid Leny Yoro as their top priority but he left to Manchester United on better wages.

Florentino Perez, the club's president may look to Saliba as the club's next Galactico, especially as the La Liga giants missed out on Yoro.
