Arsenal are 'monitoring' Jonathan David, according to a report.

The Gunners remain in the market for a No.9 after failing to strengthen that position in the summer. Benjamin Sesko decided to stay at RB Leipzig, while the likes of Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres were simply too expensive.

Gyokeres remains one of Arsenal's favoured targets for the striker position and Sporting CP accept that they will have to sell him sooner rather than later, FootballTransfers understands.

Contrary to reports, we hear that Sporting are prepared to sell him for less than his €100 million release clause, but this does not mean that the Swede would be a bargain.

Indeed, quite the opposite is the case, and the Gunners are therefore looking at potential alternatives. According to CaughtOffside, Jonathan David is one option being monitored by the north London giants - but he could also be quite useful if he were to end up somewhere else.

David to unlock...Vlahovic?

The Canadian is out of contract at Lille next summer and, unsurprisingly, not just of interest to Arsenal. Indeed, the report claims that several Serie A clubs are also keeping an eye on him, including Juventus.

The outlet goes so far as to suggest that the Bianconeri signing David could make Dusan Vlahovic superfluous. The Serb has scored twice in four Serie A games so far this season, but it is claimed that the Old Lady would be open to selling.

There has been plenty of talk regarding a contract extension for the 24-year-old, but it has still not yet materialised, so Vlahovic will have just a year left to run on his deal come summer 2025.

Mikel Arteta, of course, is a long-time admirer of the striker, having desperately wanted to sign him from Fiorentina in January 2022. However, Vlahovic decided to remain in Italy and joined Juventus instead where he has been hit and miss so far.
