Romano reveals Chelsea star's next move after changing agents

Cesare Casadei has switched agents but he will remain with Chelsea at least until January, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian wonderkid's future has been up in the air all summer. Casadei joined Chelsea in 2022 as one of his country's biggest talents, but regular game time has been hard to come by.

Despite encouraging loans to Reading and Leicester, Casadei has barely featured and there was talk of a potential move away from Chelsea this summer.

Casadei had reportedly been earmarked as a candidate to flush funds into Chelsea's coffers to enable more lavish spending. However, after Lesley Ugochukwu moved to Southampton on loan, the tone shifted and the Italian suddenly had renewed hope of a place in Enzo Maresca's side.

Still, the competition for midfield spots is fierce. Despite Enzo Fernandez failing to impress and Romeo Lavia seemingly being incapable of staying fit, Casadei will not be guaranteed minutes under Maresca even though the two were a great fit at Leicester in the first half of last season.

Casadei could leave Chelsea

Given the state of Chelsea's recruitment, Casadei is well aware that he could be sacrificed to Mammon sooner rather than later and to anticipate a potential departure, the 21-year-old has changed his representatives.

Casadei has joined Epic Sports, but what exactly does this mean for his future? According to Fabrizio Romano, the midfielder will not leave Chelsea this summer despite the fact that some markets are still open. It could, however, be a different story in January.

"New agents now for Cesare Casadei, still at Chelsea," the transfer expert said. "So now his future will be discussed. He's not expected to leave for other markets in these final days.

"So forget about Greece or these kinds of markets, including Saudi. Casadei, at the moment, is staying. And then in the January transfer window, we will see his future."
