Chelsea seemingly have no reason to worry about Liverpool's interest in Levi Colwill as the player is loving life under Enzo Maresca, according to a report.

The Italian head coach has taken no prisoners in his brief time at Stamford Bridge, publically telling several unwanted players that they ought to look for a new club during the summer.

Now, with the exception of a few 'Bomb Squad' members that remained, Maresca has the squad at his disposal that he wanted and he appears to be getting on well with his players.

Indeed, Maresca has struck up an excellent relationship with one player in particular: Levi Colwill. According to Ben Jacobs, the England international has become Chelsea's best trainer after being given assurances by the coach in pre-season.

Colwill loving life at Chelsea

Ahead of last season, speculation over the future of Colwill was rampant as he had just returned to Stamford Bridge off the back of an encouraging loan at Brighton.

Liverpool were courting the player and, despite Chelsea ultimately managing to get him to agree to a new long-term deal, the interest of the Anfield club remained.

Under Mauricio Pochettino, Colwill was not an undisputed starter in his favoured centre-back position, instead often being deployed at left-back and at one point even finding himself out of the team.

However, when Maresca came in, he assured Colwill that he would be the starter on the left side of a centre-back pairing, which put the 21-year-old's mind at ease over his Chelsea future, according to Jacobs.

Since then, Colwill has become Chelsea's most consistent performer in training and a favourite of Maresca's, who has elevated the youngster into the first team's leadership group.

It seems that the defender is going nowhere for the foreseeable future.
