Todd Boehly will be BLOCKED from selling Chelsea shares
Behdad Eghbali will reportedly block Todd Boehly from selling his Chelsea stake to outside investors.
The Blues’ co-owners are engulfed in an ongoing civil war at Stamford Bridge, with Eghbali and Boehly both looking to buy each other out amid a rift at boardroom level.
Clearlake Capital, a private equity fund managed by Eghbali and Jose E Feliciano, currently hold a majority 61.5% stake in Chelsea, while the remaining 38.5% is split equally between BlueCo partners Boehly, Hansjorg Wyss and Mark Walter.

As a result, Eghbali has the right to block any sale of Boehly’s shares.
Following suspicions that Boehly could look to sell his Chelsea stake amid the civil war at Stamford Bridge, The Sun have reported that Eghbali will prevent any attempt to offload his shares to an outside investor.
In fact, Clearlake are instead considering lodging an offer to take full control of the west London club. Boehly is also open to the idea of purchasing Chelsea, but Clearlake Capital aren’t willing to relinquish any control.

Behdad Eghbali is in charge at Chelsea
Although Boehly was the face of Chelsea’s new regime following Roman Abrahmovich’s departure, Clearlake Capital have instead held the majority of power at Stamford Bridge.
Furthermore, Boehly’s influence has slowly diminished since he stepped down from Sporting Director in 2023, and Eghbali is now the man in charge at Chelsea.
For example, while Boehly was eager to keep faith in Mauricio Pochettino during the summer, Eghbali disagreed and the Blues opted to part ways with the Argentine in May, with Enzo Maresca soon appointed as his successor.
Chelsea have spent over €1.2 billion on new signings since Eghbali and Boehly arrived in 2022, but they are yet to see significant reward on that investment - with Chelsea finishing 12th in 2022-23 and sixth last season.
