Rodrygo outlines desire to stay at Madrid

Romano detailed Rodrygo’s desire to stay at Real Madrid after a summer of transfer speculation linking him with a move away following the arrival of Kylian Mbappe.

“Rodrygo had an interview in which he talked about how upset he was about missing out on the 30-man shortlist for the Ballon d’Or but he also wanted to talk about how important Real Madrid is for him,” Romano said on his YouTube channel. “We spent the whole summer with mentions of Rodrygo to Manchester City of the Premier League. Even with Kylian Mbappe coming to the club, he always wanted to be part of Real Madrid. This is why he extended his contract at Real Madrid a year ago. He confirmed he loves the club and believes it’s the best club in the world.”

Barcelona’s extraordinary Bernal decision

Young Barcelona midfielder Marc Bernal faces a year out because of serious injury, but such is the desire of Barca to keep relations with the player strong, they are willing to give him a new deal as well as pay him a string of bonuses.

Romano explained: “Barcelona have decided to extend the contract of Marc Bernal. He’s 17, so it can’t be a five-year deal, but that’s something they’ve already prepared for next year when he turns 18.

“What Barca are doing are giving Bernal all the add-ons for this current season, which he probably would have triggered if it wasn’t for his injury. But Barca, especially Deco, wanted to send him a strong message. New deal for Marc Bernal and Barca very clear with their plan for him.”

Osimhen wants to ‘respect’ Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen will not think about his future while he is at Galatasaray, despite having the possibility of leaving in January.

Of the Napoli ace, Romano said: “Victor Osimhen just signed with Galatasaray so he has respect with Gala and focus on them. What I can tell you is that Chelsea’s appreciation for him remains. It’s true it’s been a complicated situation but Chelsea didn’t leave the story saying they don’t want to hear about him anymore. They understand what happened and how complicated it was for the player.”

Man Utd’s 2025 plan revealed

Romano has said that although Man United obviously don’t have a definitive plan for next summer, they have a good idea of at least one position they will target, with Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze a player earmarked for Old Trafford.

Man Utd’s idea in 2025 is that they will add one more winger to the squad,” he claimed.

“We’ve heard many rumours about Eberechi Eze and Crystal Palace. United already appreciated Michael Olise, but they’ve been scouting Eze too.

“But he’s not the only one. They have several names they’ll be tracking this year. Next summer, there’s a concrete possibility they’ll move for a winger next summer.”

Wirtz a wanted man

A string of major clubs feel that Florian Wirtz may leave Bayer Leverkusen next summer.

Romano says: “What I can tell you, there was never a possibility of him leaving. When Xabi Alonso decided to stay, he was promised that Florian Wirtz was never going to leave the club. He is untouchable and that’s the case.

“Next summer, it will depend on several factors. Many top clubs believe summer 2025 could be different. Several clubs are keeping a close eye on the situation.”
