Liverpool make Alexander-Arnold plan to ward off Real Madrid transfer interest
Liverpool are determined to avoid a mass exodus next summer, with a host of key players in the final year of their contracts and months away from being able to agree free transfers to other teams.
The likes of Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk have yet to resolve their futures and both stars have admitted that this season could be their final years at Anfield.
However, arguably the most valuable asset that Liverpool could end up losing is Trent Alexander-Arnold, with the 25-year-old in his prime and wanted by teams such as Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold has started the season strongly under new boss Arne Slot, while also finding himself back into England contention after falling out of favour under Gareth Southgate.
But despite the rise in Alexander-Arnold’s stock, senior officials at Liverpool are said to be ‘confident’ in tying the right-back down to a new contract in the coming months, according to TBR Football.
The report claims that Liverpool ‘won’t have an issue’ agreeing the outline of a deal, with a five-year contract worth more than £300,000-per-week thought to be on the table, bringing Alexander-Arnold in line with the club’s top earners such as Salah.
Liverpool hoping to seal four new contracts after bright start under Slot
Liverpool will continue talks with Salah and Van Dijk in the coming months but Alexander-Arnold’s extension is said to be the priority, particularly with the defender able to talk to other clubs from January.
The Reds are also in negotiations with Luis Diaz over a new deal after his blistering start to the season and there is an expectation an agreement will be reached with the 27-year-old before the New Year.

Diaz still has three years remaining on his contract but the winger has three goals and one assist in his last two games and appears to have found a new lease on life under Slot, having previously been rumoured to leave Anfield during the summer.
Alexander-Arnold, too, was understood to be holding out on signing a new deal as he first wanted to see how life under Slot would be but the homegrown star could now edge closer to penning a contract that would make him one of the highest-paid English players in the world.
