Eze emerges as top priority as Man Utd outline 2025 transfer plan

Manchester United are hoping to sign a defender, a midfielder and a winger next summer, with Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze among their 2025 transfer targets.

The Red Devils enjoyed a productive first transfer window under INEOS’ reign, with a combined €214.5 million spent on Leny Yoro, Manuel Ugarte, Matthijs de Ligt, Joshua Zirkzee and Noussair Mazraoui.

They addressed several key problem positions, including a long-term Casemiro replacement and a back-up to Rasmus Hojlund, but Man Utd are hoping to spend big yet again next year.

According to Manchester Evening News, the Red Devils are provisionally planning on signing a new defender, midfielder and winger in 2025.

Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite reportedly remains of interest, following Man Utd’s failure to agree a deal this summer, while Eze is one of their key targets amid his immense form for Crystal Palace.

The England star, who made three substitute appearances at Euro 2024, scored 11 goals and provided four assists in the Premier League last season as he helped Oliver Glasner’s side to a 10th place finish in the English top flight.

Eberechi Eze to Man Utd?

Eze is capable of playing in an attacking midfield role or as a left winger, but given the existing presence of Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount, it’s likely he’d play out wide if Man Utd are able to sign him.

Following Jadon Sancho’s move to Chelsea, the Red Devils now have four wingers on their books - Marcus Rashford, Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo and Antony - but they are looking to bolster their options further by adding Eze into the mix.

The 26-year-old has three years remaining on his Crystal Palace contract, and his current deal at Selhurst Park includes an €80 million release clause, which can be activated next summer.

Meanwhile, Eze’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at a career high of €49.6m.
