Marcus Rashford has proven that he is more than capable as Manchester United's leading man once again.

The Red Devils were up against Southampton at St Mary's when the former England international struck a long-range effort which hit the post and went in.

It marked United's second goal of the game following Matthijs de Ligt's opener, but Erik ten Hag's side had been on the ropes against the home side in the opening stages.

Diogo Dalot's clumsy challenge saw Southampton awarded a penalty, but Andre Onana saved Cameron Archer's effort.

But for Rashford, the goal would mean so much. The player has come in for a barrage of criticism recently, with the I Paper even reporting that those close to the 26-year-old felt as though he was being bullied.

But now Rashford has proven he is a superb attacker, getting off the mark this season against Russell Martin's side with a brilliant goal.
