Chelsea initiate 'new contact' with Osimhen
Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Victor Osimhen and are reportedly hoping to sign the Nigeria international in 2025.
The Blues were extremely close to finalising an agreement for the 25-year-old this summer, but the move failed to materialise due to several small issues and he joined Galatasaray on loan instead.
However, Chelsea remain interested in signing Osimhen, despite the recent form of Nicolas Jackson, and have initiated “new contact” with his representatives, according to TEAMtalk.

Before his move to Galatasaray, Napoli reportedly agreed to lower the value of Osimhen’s release clause to €75 million and the Nigerian’s new price tag has alerted Chelsea.
The Blues have held fresh talks with Osimhen’s camp and they are eager to secure a deal in 2025.
Chelsea are currently planning on signing the 25-year-old next summer, however a January break clause in his Galatasaray loan means Osimhen could move to Stamford Bridge during the winter window.

How close were Chelsea to signing Victor Osimhen this summer?
He told The Obi One Podcast: “We were very, very close. We were just moments away from getting this deal done, but there were just slight issues, slight little problems, that meant we just couldn't get over the line.
“And of course, the medical couldn't be done as well, so even if we got the deal done, it was too late…
“Victor really, really wanted to come to the club, and he had to compromise a lot to come to the middle. Because we did reach an agreement in terms of the salary, in terms of what he wants.
“There were just a few minor details here and there that we just couldn't get over the line.”
