Isak opens door for Arsenal transfer
Newcastle star Alexander Isak has opened the door on an Arsenal switch amid contract talks with the Magpies, according to reports.
The Sweden international is considered one of the best in his position in the world. The Gunners were heavily linked to him last summer but opted not to make a bid for the No.9.
His contract at St James' Park is up in 2028 but Newcastle still wish to thrash out an extension for the hitman. But now TalkSport have stated that Isak is stalling on a fresh deal, despite the club and player being in talks for months.

The outlet stated today: "Clubs including Arsenal on red alert as he continues to stall on signing a new contract at Newcastle.
As previously reported in the Notebook, Isak has been in talks over a new deal at St James' Park for several months but there is no obvious sign of progress in negotiations. {....} The Swede is demanding a pay packet making him Newcastle’s top earner, as well as a release clause, in order to commit his future.
"Arsenal have a long-standing interest in Isak, 25, and are expected to push to sign a new No.9 next summer with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko also on their shortlist."
Isak scored 21 Premier League goals last season, which led to links to the Gunners as well as Chelsea.
Will Alexander Isak leave Newcastle?
But despite the exit rumours, Isak admitted over the summer that he does not wish to leave Newcastle. Speaking to Swedish outlet Fotbollskanalen, the former Borussia Dortmund attacker said that he is not considering an exit from Newcastle and is happy to continue at St James’ Park.
“I’m really, really happy at Newcastle. I had my best season of my career. You can’t underestimate that. I love everything about the club, the fans, the city,” he said. “I don’t really have any thoughts of moving or anything like that. I’m having a great time and I’m very happy with my life.”

“It’s not something I speculate about. Within the team or the club, there has been no talk or drama around it. I have not received any information from the club that they would have to sell me.”
“It’s been good, especially the second part of the season. I had some hiccups and injuries in the first part. It was a bit difficult to find the flow, but in the last few months, I’ve been playing regularly and getting continuity. It has shown in the performances too.”
