Premier League title challenger told to make SENSATIONAL Pogba deal
Arsenal have been told to sign Paul Pogba to help fuel their Premier League title challenge.
Pogba is currently a free agent after being released by Juventus following a ban for testing positive for a performance-enhancing drug.
It seemed that Pogba’s career would be over as he was slapped with a four-year penalty, but with that now reduced to 18 months, it means he could be back in action as soon as March 2025.
Any club doing a deal with Pogba, meanwhile, could see him start to train from January 2025, giving him ample opportunity to gain his fitness.
Former Arsenal defender Bacary Sagna, meanwhile, has backed the Gunners to do a deal with the 31-year-old World Cup winner, who previously turned out for Manchester United.
“The Premier League suits Paul Pogba – I would love to see him join Arsenal,” Sagna said in quotes relayed by TeamTalk.
“It would be great – he has experience; he loves to play with young players around him – that is when he is most efficient.
“At the 2018 World Cup, that was when he was most efficient – he had friends around him.
“Arsenal have a young, fresh team, and I see him performing in an Arsenal shirt. He will get love from their fans.
“Now, he can start from scratch again – he’s had time away from football, and he’ll be back with a desire to get back into a good space and play football again.”
Do Arsenal need Pogba?
Arsenal do have several options in the midfield, where Martin Odegaard is presently out injured, which begs the question of whether they really need another in the form of Pogba.
Declan Rice and Mikel Merino are expected to become the starting pair in terms of a defensive contribution, with Odegaard a more forward-thinking player when fit. Backing them up are Jorginho and Thomas Partey.
Pogba would be a welcome option, but given the type of wage he would likely demand, there is a question over whether he would be value for money.
