Liverpool legend Didi Hamann has hit out at Bayern Munich superstar Harry Kane once again.

The former midfielder has been one of the England striker's harshest critics since he joined Bayern Munich in a €100 million deal in 2023. Kane has netted 54 goals and provided 17 assists for the German side since arriving but tangible success has proved elusive.

The 31-year-old already boasts 10 goals and five assists so far this season. However, all of his strikes have come in comfortable victories for his side, with the Three Lions hero netting four in a 9-2 win over Dinamo Zagreb and three against promoted Holstein Kiel (6-1 win), for example.

Kane struggled to get into the game against reigning Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen and he was again shut out by Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday in a famous 1-0 victory for the Birmingham side.

This has now prompted another scathing critique from Hamann, who already hypothesised last season that Bayern would be better off without the €100m man.

Hamann blasts Kane

"I said after the European Championship in the summer that he still has to prove that he is worth the €100m - even though he scored over 30 goals last year," Hamann wrote in a Sky Germany column.

"He wasn't brought in to score a hat-trick against Darmstadt. He was brought in to score against Leverkusen and Aston Villa and to score in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. He hasn't done that yet. So, I remain sceptical about the star striker.

"Of course, Bayern will hope that he finds form because the debates will come. And I think they are not that far away. If I am so dominant against Leverkusen and Villa, then I expect one of the best players in the business to be a threat and to be able to create at least one goal-scoring opportunity out of nothing in 90 minutes. That is not happening at the moment."
