The former Manchester City man has been on fire once again this season, netting five goals and providing six assists in seven Premier League matches already this term.

The England international joined Chelsea from the Citizens last summer, in what was a surprise deal worth €47 million. But since then, he's been a revelation, arguably the best Premier League player today.

Palmer's stock has risen incrementally. FootballTransfers' Estimated Transfer Value algorithm has him worth €67.3m, over a ten-fold increase from when he signed up at Stamford Bridge in 2023.

During his entire spell at Chelsea so far, Palmer has made 51 goal contributions in 54 games, an amount no one could have foreseen, not least Pep Guardiola, who allowed him to join a Premier League rival.

Palmer on Ballon d'Or

Palmer was shortlisted for the Ballon d'Or for his efforts at Chelsea. He joins the likes of Jude Bellingham, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe. But even still, the 22-year-old believes that he could clinch the converted award.

"It was a surprise to be recognised at that level so early in my career," Palmer told The Telegraph. "It’s a huge honour. Winning it would be brilliant, and I believe with hard work and consistency I could get there!"

Palmer also admitted that his nine-year contract is no problem for him and he envisages staying for a long time. "Chelsea feels like home to me, and I’m excited about what we can achieve together. I’m fully committed to the club and its future."

Furthermore, Palmer touched on his 'cold" celebration. "It symbolises joy, passion and hard determination for the game plus it’s funny as it works well with my name. Everyone knows it’s my celebration. Lots of people might have done it, but everybody knows it is my celebration.

"Repetition is vital. You have to keep pushing your limits and improving every season. It’s about setting higher standards for yourself and striving to surpass them."
