New Chelsea legend: Palmer outshines Lampard and Drogba
Cole Palmer matched the hattrick record of several Chelsea legends with his four goals against Brighton.
The 22-year-old has been an absolute revelation for the Blues since joining from Man City last year. After netting a whopping 27 goals and providing 15 assists last term, Palmer is already up to six goals and four assists in eight appearances this season.
Chelsea's start to life under Enzo Maresca is looking increasingly encouraging and Palmer has played a crucial role in this early-season success even if he has been omitted from the Blues' Conference League group-stage squad due to load management.

At the weekend, Palmer outdid himself when he scored a quadruple against Brighton, becoming the first player in Premier League history to find the back of the net four times in the first half of a game.
Along the way, Palmer, of course, recorded a hattrick as well and it was already his third in a Chelsea shirt.
Palmer matches Drogba, Lampard and Co.
As 90min points out, his hattrick against Brighton saw Palmer match the records of several Chelsea legends, including Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink.
Palmer has three Premier League hattricks in just 39 Chelsea games. By comparison, Lampard, one of the greatest goalscoring midfielders of all time, only managed three hattricks in 429 league appearances for his beloved side.

Fan favourites Drogba and Hasselbaink recorded three in 254 and 136 outings, respectively, illustrating just how impressive the 22-year-old has been since arriving at Stamford Bridge.
With three hattricks and two quadruples already under his belt as a Blues player, Palmer is well on his way to becoming a Chelsea legend and he is only in his second season at the club. The England international is still under contract until 2033!
