Chelsea to hold transfer meeting for unwanted duo
Chelsea will reportedly hold a transfer meeting in December to discuss the sales of Ben Chilwell and Carney Chukwuemeka.
Both players were heavily linked with an exit this summer, with Enzo Maresca actively encouraging them to leave, but they were unable to secure a move away from Stamford Bridge.
Chilwell and Chukwuemeka were even placed in Chelsea’s Bomb Squad following Maresca’s arrival in July, but they have returned to the first-team fold in recent weeks.

Chelsea’s 5-0 win over Barrow in the Carabao Cup marked the first appearance of the season for both players, although neither have been included in a Premier League matchday squad in 2024-25 so far.
The west London club are looking to sell Chilwell and Chukwuemeka during the January transfer window and a meeting to discuss their futures has been scheduled for December, according to CaughtOffside.
Chilwell joined Chelsea from Leicester City for €50.2 million in August 2020, while Chukwuemeka arrived at the club for €18m from Aston Villa in 2022.

What has Enzo Maresca said about Ben Chilwell
Ahead of the aforementioned victory against Barrow, Maresca told the media: “In the moment we need him [Chilwell], for sure, why not?
“I will say again, at the moment he is with us, he is one of the Chelsea players and one of our players. If we need to, we will give him chances and minutes.
“We all make mistakes. I had to make a decision; sometimes they are good and sometimes not. There is not any bad intention from me. It was just to try and think of the best thing for the club.”
Chilwell has made 107 appearances for Chelsea since joining the club and his contract with the Stamford Bridge outfit isn’t due to expire until the end of June 2027.
