Ineos chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly been told that the former Real Madrid head coach will accept any forthcoming offer.

In Erik ten Hag's third season, the situation has been as dire as ever. The Red Devils have sit 14th in the Premier League table, with two wins from seven games. They are also winless in the Europa League after two matches.

TeamTalk reports "Ten Hag has now lost the support of Ratcliffe, who has made clear his wish to remove him as manager." It appears, in which case, that the United board overruled the Nice owner at their meeting last week.

Ratcliffe wants Thomas Tuchel to replace the Dutchman, believing him to be the ideal candidate to rejuvenate the side. The German had turned down the job over the summer, but now it's thought that he is open to joining.

The Express reports that Ratcliffe has been advised by United director Jean-Claude Blanc that a move for Zidane would work well and that he the Frenchman would be open to joining.

The World Cup winner has been out of work since leaving Real Madrid for a second time in May 2021. He is waiting for the right opportunity, believing that he could get the France national job.

But Zidane has had a change of heart after discovering Didier Deschamps wants to stay on as Les Bleus coach and lead them to the 2026 World Cup campaign.

Thomas Tuchel or Zinedine Zidane to Man Utd?

Zidane is a three-time Champions League-winning coach but the belief is that Tuchel is United’s first choice, given his Premier League experience.

Tuchel is eager to get back into football but there are reports that he is in talks for the England job, with Lee Carsley current at the post on an interim basis.

It comes after Fichajes reported that one “key condition” of Tuchel joining the Old Trafford side is that he wants to sign Ronald Araujo.

With Barcelona’s financial position still weak, there is every chance the Camp Nou outfit could be negotiated into a sale of a bench player who has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €46 million.

The 25-year-old would arrive at Man Utd as a certain starter at centre-back, according to data analytics firm SciSports, which indicates he would be the Red Devils’ second-best in his role behind only Matthijs de Ligt.
