Man City choose Haaland replacement
Manchester City are reportedly interested in signing Sporting CP forward Viktor Gyokeres in the event that Erling Haaland departs.
Haaland, 24, joined Man City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022 and he has enjoyed a supremely successful stint under Pep Guardiola thus far.
The Norway international has already notched 101 goals in all competitions for Man City, while he has two Premier League titles and one Champions League trophy under his belt since moving to England.

However, his contract at the Etihad Stadium is due to expire in 2027, and both Real Madrid and Barcelona have registered their interest in signing him if he decides to leave Man City.
If Haaland opts to depart the club, Man City will target a move for the aforementioned Gyokeres, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Sweden international has scored a whopping 55 goals since moving to Sporting last year, and he was pursued by both Arsenal and Chelsea during the 2024 summer transfer window.
However, despite interest from both London giants, Gyokeres could be set to join Man City, with Guardiola’s side reportedly identifying him as the perfect like-for-like replacement for Haaland.

Erling Haaland to Barcelona?
Barcelona have been heavily linked with signing Haaland in 2025, although Fabrizio Romano believes a move to Camp Nou is currently unlikely for the Man City star.
“Erling Haaland - Barcelona have been linked with Manchester City’s star player in the Spanish press, but my honest feeling is that predicting what Barca will do now for summer 2025 would be completely made up stuff,” Romano recently admitted.
“It will depend on Financial Fair Play and on how this season goes. It’s still early October. At the club, they’re absolutely not working on this kind of big deal for summer 2025 now.
“Haaland is only focused on Man City, there’s nothing concrete ongoing at all - I can guarantee that.”
