Harry Maguire ‘waiting’ for Erik ten Hag to be sacked
Harry Maguire is waiting for Erik ten Hag to be sacked before deciding on his future at Manchester United.
That is according to Football Insider, who report that Maguire wants to wait and see what Ten Hag’s successor’s plans are with the England centre back.
Maguire is out of Ten Hag’s plans but because the Dutchman is on the brink of the sack, the 31-year-old is prepared to bide his time before leaving.

Ten Hag has transfer listed Maguire and set his asking price at just €12 million.
Despite paying €87 million to sign Maguire from Leicester five years ago, United are ready to accept offers of just €12m for the defender so desperate are they to sell him.
United do have the option of extending Maguire’s contract by another year but would rather not activate that clause and instead sell the defender in January.
If they do fail to sell him, the Daily Mirror reports they will activate the clause and try again to sell him in the summer.
But these plans could change if Ten Hag’s successor is a fan of Maguire.
And that is why Maguire is waiting for Ten Hag to be sacked before taking any drastic action in regards to leaving.

Maguire future at Man Utd
United tried to sell Maguire this past summer but the player refused all offers.
They also were close to selling him in 2023 but a move to West Ham fell through when he wouldn’t take a pay cut.
Maguire joined from Leicester for a world-record fee for a defender of around €87 million in 2019.
After a decent first two seasons at the club, Maguire has endured three miserable past years for Man Utd, ever since Euro 2020.
After an error-prone 2021-22 season, he finally lost his place in the first team during the 2022-23 campaign as manager Erik ten Hag preferred Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez as his centre back pairing.
Maguire also started the 2023-24 season down the pecking order but an injury crisis saw him return to the fold.
His form improved a touch but United still endured a disastrous season in the Premier League and Champions League, despite winning the FA Cup.
This season Maguire has actually started five matches for United but the main reason for that has been injuries to other players.
When all defenders are fit, he is considered to be behind Matthijs de Ligt, Lisandro Martinez and Leny Yoro in the centre back pecking order.
