Man City star in toilet phone photo fracas: Truth revealed after ‘arrest’ claims

Manchester City star Matheus Nunes was reportedly arrested following an incident at a Madrid nightclub, but the truth behind the rumours have now been revealed, with the situation said to have been exaggerated and the police facing no further action.
The Spanish press broke revelations on Wednesday that the Portugal international midfielder had been involved in an altercation in the Spanish capital last month and had been apprehended by the authorities.
These, however, have proven to be blown out of proportion, and while the police were involved in the incident, no arrest was made.
It was claimed that he was given a leave of absence by Man City during the international break, during which he had not been called up for duty by national team boss Roberto Martinez.
Consequently, the 26-year-old decided to spend time in the Spanish capital.
El Mundo, in a report via the Daily Mail, had claimed that Nunes had attempted to take a man’s phone in the toilet of a nightclub following claims that he had tried to take a picture of the player. It went on to state police were called and Nunes was arrested before being released a short while later.

The Manchester Evening News, however, has cleared up any confusion about the incident.
“It is understood that the incident has been exaggerated and Nunes only pushed the phone out of the man's hand after asking him to stop taking pictures,” it reports.
“Police were called but did not arrest Nunes, nor will he face any further action in relation to the incident.”

Nunes made a €62 million move to Manchester City from Wolves last summer, but after signing a five-year deal with the club has struggled to make a regular impression under Pep Guardiola.
