Man Utd on the verge of MAJOR deal
Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is on the verge of signing a contract extension at the club.
The England international penned a new deal at Old Trafford last year, but he is set to receive a major pay increase following his impressive 2023-24 campaign.
Mainoo established himself as a key member of Man Utd’s first-team squad last season and he started all four of England’s knockout matches at the 2024 European Championship this summer.

The 19-year-old has just under three years remaining on his current deal with the Red Devils, but he has been in contract extension talks since March and an agreement is now extremely close, according to the Manchester Evening News.
Mainoo is viewed as a crucial player in Man Utd’s project under Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the club are eager to tie him down to a long-term deal.
The midfielder has started all seven of Man Utd’s Premier League games so far this season, while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has risen by over €30 million in the last 12 months.

What has Erik ten Hag said about Kobbie Mainoo?
In August, Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag was quick to praise Mainoo following his impressive debut campaign at Old Trafford and his immense showings at Euro 2024.
“He collected such good experiences [at the Euros] and those experiences will help him to become a better player, 100 percent,” Ten Hag admitted.
“Where do I see him? The perfect midfielder is one who is very good in attacking, very good in defending. He’s a player who can do that. He can play as an attacking midfielder and also as a holding midfielder.
“We have to see from situation to situation and occasion to occasion who is available, the opponents, where we can hurt the opponent or take some strength from the opponent, where we use the players.
“So with Kobbie, we can use him as an attacking midfielder or a holding midfielder. In approaching games, this is what’s needed.”
