Man Utd players miffed at Ten Hag staying

Some Manchester United players were surprised that Erik ten Hag wasn't sacked in the summer after a poor season, according to reports.

The Dutchman has come in for some flak after his poor season last term, as well as he has conducted things this time around.

The former Ajax boss is on a knife's edge in terms of his job security. And a Mail report has suggested that a lot the United squad believe that he will be given the chop soon.

It read: "Although he still has the support of the dressing room, there's a growing feeling among players that he cannot stop the rot and that change is inevitable."

It does not state which players feel that way but it seems more like the general flavour of how things are in the dressing room.

Meanwhile, another report has said that unless he gets positive results in the next two games when the club plays Porto and Aston Villa this week. It's thought that two bad results will end up in his dismissal.

Ten Hag was already under big pressure going into the Premier League clash with Tottenham. And their 3-0 defeat was a catastrophic failure, not just in the result but also in performance.

United are in 13th position in the Premier League have a minus-three goal difference after six games.

Britain’s bookmakers expect Ten Hag to be sacked sooner rather than later, with the Manchester United boss the favourite to be the next Premier League manager to be sacked.

All of Britain’s bookmakers have Ten Hag as the favourite to be the next coach to get the chop in England.

Ten Hag to be sacked?

United held an internal review on Ten Hag’s future and even spoke to several potential managerial replacements, but in a shock development decided that the Dutchman would be staying at Old Trafford, in the fallout of their FA Cup win over Manchester City.

That decision appears only to be a short stay of execution as the bookmakers believe that Ten Hag’s days are numbered.

A number of top names are waiting in the wings to replace Ten Hag, including former England manager Gareth Southgate, and ex-Chelsea bosses Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter. Ruud van Nistelrooy is an internal choice.
