Man Utd's Garnacho asking price revealed

Manchester United reportedly consider Alejandro Garnacho “untouchable” amid interest from Barcelona and Juventus.

The Argentina international has only started four games in all competitions so far this season, and interest from multiple top European clubs has emerged following his reduced role under Erik ten Hag.

However, Man Utd are desperate to keep Garnacho and the Red Devils are demanding a fee in excess of €83 million (£70m) to even consider a sale, according to TEAMtalk.

The 20-year-old’s current contract at Old Trafford runs until 2028, after he signed a new deal last year, and Man Utd are hoping to build their team around the Argentine and fellow youngster Kobbie Mainoo.

Despite this, Garnacho has been linked with a shock exit in recent days, with the former Atletico Madrid youth product reportedly unhappy by his lack of game time so far this campaign.

Barcelona and Juventus are both tracking his situation at Old Trafford, but Man Utd are reluctant to lose the Argentina international and will reportedly not accept a bid that amounts to less than €83m.

Furthermore, Garnacho’s position at Man Utd could well change if Erik ten Hag is sacked in the near future.

Erik ten Hag under pressure

The Red Devils have only won one of their last 10 European games under Ten Hag’s management, while they are currently 13th in the Premier League table.

As a result, he is under massive pressure, with multiple replacement options being considered by the Old Trafford outfit.

However, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has admitted that he won’t be involved in Ten Hag’s future.

He told BBC Sport: “I like Erik. I think he’s a very good coach but at the end of the day it’s not my call, it’s the management team that’s running Manchester United that have to decide how we best run the team in many different respects.

"But that team that’s running Manchester United has only been together since June or July. They weren’t there in January, February, March or April - [CEO] Omar [Berrada], [Sporting Director] Dan Ashworth - they only arrived in July.

"They’ve only been there…you can count it in weeks almost - they’ve not been there a long time so they need to take stock and make some sensible decisions.

"Our objective is very clear - we want to take Manchester United back to where it should be, and it’s not there yet, obviously - that’s very clear.”
