Angel Gomes moving closer to Man Utd return
There are no signs to suggest that Angel Gomes will renew his contract with LOSC Lille, according to French media.
The 24-year-old has become one of Ligue 1's most consistent and impressive midfielders since moving to Lille from Man Utd in 2020. Gomes has been rewarded for his performances with two England call-ups under Lee Carsley and his name has become a familiar sight in the English rumour mill.
That is because his contract at Lille expires next summer, meaning that he will be free to negotiate with interested clubs in January. This has ignited rampant speculation over his future, with a move back to the Premier League frequently mooted.

His formative club Man Utd, in particular, have been linked with the diminutive playmaker and Gomes himself has admitted that it would be 'difficult to say no' if he were offered a route back to Old Trafford.
Gomes won't extend Lille deal
It seems that the chances of a potential return to Man Utd are increasing because, according to L'Equipe, there are so far no signs of Gomes being interested in extending his stay in the North of France.
After a brilliant 2023/24 campaign, his game is going through a real slump right now. The French outlet has expressed disappointment at the midfielder's recent displays in what may be a worry to Premier League suitors.

The report described Gomes as having been like a 'ghost' during Friday's 0-0 draw with Monaco as the Englishman failed to cope with the 'biting pressure' of Adi Hutter's side.
New coach Bruno Genesio has not yet managed to help Gomes find his feet like his predecessor Paulo Fonseca managed and a change of scenery at the end of the season is becoming increasingly attractive.
