Next Man Utd manager odds: Van Nistelrooy bookies' favourite to replace Ten Hag

Ruud van Nistelrooy is the bookies’ favourite to replace Erik ten Hag as the next permanent manager of Manchester United.

Ten Hag was finally sacked on 28 October, the day following the Red Devils' 2-1 loss to West Ham United in the Premier League.

Despite only signing a contract extension in the summer, Ten Hag became the first manager in England's top-flight to be sacked during the 2024/25 season.

Who are the favourites to become the next Man Utd manager?

Van Nistelrooy joined Ten Hag’s coaching staff in the summer, having managed PSV during the 2022/23 season, and FootballTransfers understands that the United legend is already being earmarked to take over at Old Trafford.

The Dutchman has been confirmed as the Red Devils' interim boss, putting him in pole position for the role.

Ruben Amorim has moved ahead of Gareth Southgate to become second favourite for the post.

The Sporting CP boss is best priced at 6.0 to take the post.

Former England boss Southgate, meanwhile, is on offer at 11.0.

Thomas Tuchel, meanwhile, is out of the running, having taken Southgate's job with the Three Lions. The former Chelsea and PSG boss had held unsuccessful talks over taking the post in the summer.

Kieran McKenna was another candidate strongly linked with United in the summer, having been a youth coach at the club before joining current club Ipswich. The Northern Irish boss has odds of around 15.0, having drifted following a poor start to the season.

Graham Potter is also believed to be admired by Sir Jim Ratcliffe and the Englishman is ready to return to management, with odds of him taking over at United at 20.0 currently.

Thomas Frank is one to watch. Despite distancing himself of the job, the Brentford boss is priced at 11.0.

Massimiliano Allegri has odds of 23.0 while Zinedine Zidane is on offer at 26.0, with both decorated managers out of work at present.
