Chelsea could make a move for Victor Osimhen in January, but Galatasaray are weighing up whether it is possible to make his loan permanent, according to Italian media.

The Napoli striker is spending the season in Istanbul after proposed summer moves to PSG, Chelsea and Al-Ahli came to nothing. Though Galatasaray have managed to get Osimhen for a year, there is a break clause in his deal that allows him to make a move elsewhere in January.

So far, Osimhen has certainly played like a man who is still determined to get his big transfer to one of Europe's elite sides. In four games for the Turkish giants, he has scored twice and assisted four times.

The Nigerian superstar is currently nursing an injury and has been unable to feature in recent fixtures, but it is not expected to be a long-term issue. Naturally, after being one of the protagonists of the summer window, speculation surrounding the 25-year-old's future continues to abound.

Osimhen available in January

Before moving to Gala, Osimhen insisted on his Napoli release clause being reduced from €130 million to €75m. However, according to Corriere dello Sport, the latter only applies to next summer.

In the winter, clubs will have to pay €81m, with the additional €6m acting as compensation for Gala given that they would lose a player they signed for the season.

Intriguingly, the Italian outlet asserts that the Istanbul club would like to make Osimhen's move permanent. The striker is said to be settled in Turkey and "he kisses the shirt, kisses the fans, says wonderful things about them and the city."

Gala, of course, would only have to pay the €75m in the winter, but there are some questions that would to be answered first. Is Osimhen keen on this course of action and can the Super Lig side even afford this fee? A figure of €75m would absolutely obliterate their current transfer record of €18m.

Additionally, it is thought that Chelsea will be in the frame for Osimhen again in January. The Blues had concerns about his cost in the summer, particularly his hefty wages, but they may feel tempted to make a move at his reduced price in January.
