Arsenal and Manchester City are ready to throw an unwanted striker a lifeline for his career at the elite level by making a move for him in the January transfer window.

In what is a notoriously difficult period to negotiate deals, clubs seeking a centre-forward have already seem the possibility of signing Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen effectively ended by claims that neither are on the market.

But there is another €100 million forward who is very much up for sale – or in this case poised to be loaned.

PSG striker Randal Kolo Muani has fallen completely out of favour at Parc des Princes to such an extent that he has only started two matches, despite Luis Enrique’s side seeing first-choice centre-forward Goncalo Ramos struck down by serious injury.

As such, the 25-year-old is on the transfer market just 18 months after arriving from Eintracht Frankfurt in a deal worth a giant €95m.

Kolo Muani’s Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) subsequently peaked at €78.9m in January, yet it has since collapsed to just €30.5m.

Kolo Muani: A loan suits everyone

With PSG unwilling to take such a loss on the player, who is still under contract until 2028, and clubs unlikely to pay the type of money that the Ligue 1 leaders would want for a sale, a loan seems a likely solution.

This is certainly something that could suit both Arsenal and City, with the two clubs both eager to find a player to support their front-line forwards of Kai Havertz and Erling Haaland respectively. TBR reports both are seriously considering the France international as a January solution.

For Kolo Muani, such a deal would be a breath of fresh air, providing him the opportunity to get more minutes at the top level than he is earning at PSG.

And simply because he is unwanted by Les Parisiens should not diminish his qualities in the eyes of Arsenal and City supporters.

Kolo Muani remains a key player in Didier Deschamps’ France setup, scoring three and creating another in his last three internationals. Indeed, he is the main rival to dropped captain Kylian Mbappe for the No.9 role.

On top of this, he scored 23 and setup 17 for Frankfurt in the 2022/23 campaign, making him a viable January loan gamble for these Premier League giants.
