Arsenal are aiming to turn a profit on Jakub Kiwior despite his struggles for regular football, according to Italian media.

A useful squad player, the Pole nowadays finds himself out of the team more often than not. Kiwior saw frequent minutes last season, playing primarily at left-back, but the summer arrival of Riccardo Calafiori and the return of Jurrien Timber have made him surplus to requirements.

The 24-year-old has only made seven appearances so far this season, playing a measly 96 minutes in the Premier League spread across four cameo appearances off the bench.

Unsurprisingly, then, transfer speculation surrounding the Poland international is never far away, especially in light of the fact that he has been a sought-after commodity over the past 12 months.

Arsenal set Kiwior price

Due to his status as primarily a squad player, clubs have felt emboldened to swoop for him, but Arsenal have hitherto refused to play along. A return to Italy has always seemed the most realistic next move for the former Spezia man and links to Serie A have frequently cropped up over the past year.

However, the Gunners have always been firm in their desire to keep him at the club, swiftly rejecting approaches from AC Milan and others. Even now, TuttoMercatoWeb reports that Arsenal's stance has not softened.

Arsenal will not entertain a loan move or allow Kiwior to leave on the cheap. Napoli are the latest side linked with the 24-year-old but the north London giants are determined to turn a profit on their €19.5 million investment.

The Italian outlet claims that Arsenal are demanding at least €20m-€25m despite his limited minutes. His price could therefore prove a significant hurdle.

It remains to be seen how the exit of Arsenal sporting director Edu affects the situation.
