Red alert for Arsenal as €40m star dragged away from Arteta

Arsenal face the prospect of missing out on Omar Marmoush with the news that a more suitable club for the Eintracht Frankfurt striker has come into the running.

Mikel Arteta’s side have primarily faced competition from Liverpool for the Egypt international attacker, who has 15 goals and 11 assists across the Bundesliga and Europa League this season.

Now, though, Fichajes reports that PSG are chasing Marmoush, who has become one of the hottest properties on the transfer market ahead of January and is valued by his club around the €40 million mark.

The Ligue 1 side are chasing additional firepower, with Randal Kolo-Muani, who reportedly forms part of a six-man shortlist for Arsenal, one of the players who could be on his way out. The France international does not apparently fit into Luis Enrique’s plans.

Marmoush, on the other hand, is seen as an “ideal” candidate because of his “ability to get wide, his finishing and his vision”.

PSG are now described as the “favourites” to land the striker.

PSG should be taken seriously be Arsenal as a rival for Marmoush not just because of the financial wealth of the club: they are also seen as a more suitable team for the striker to thrive in.

Indeed, PSG are the second most suitable team for Marmoush, according to the Career Advice tool of data analytics experts SciSports.

While Arsenal get a Club Fit score of 73, PSG hit 76.

The Ligue 1 side primarily score better than the Gunners on playing time for Marmoush and formation. Neither side scores well in terms of the Egyptian fitting easily into their playing style, however.

Liverpool, meanwhile, trail by a distant with a score of 64. Although Marmoush could develop at Anfield, the Merseysiders do not score well in terms of game time, playing style or formation.

Manchester United, meanwhile, are the optimal club for Marmoush, according to the data experts, with the Red Devils primarily able to offer him game time and a playing style to suit his qualities.
