Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano revealed the truth about Viktor Gyokeres to Manchester United, and Chelsea face competition in the race to sign an Arsenal star.

Below, FootballTransfers runs through the biggest news stories from the day.

Man Utd News

Ruben Amorim says that he will not sign any Sporting CP players in January but has opened the door to sign them in the summer.

Viktor Gyokeres is among the stars who could follow Amorim to Old Trafford next summer, as per Fabrizio Romano.

However, Amorim is eager to sign Juventus defender Danilo during the January window.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils have opened talks to sign Bayer Leverkusen centre back Jonathan Tah.

Randal Kolo Muani has also emerged as a transfer target amid his woes at Paris Saint-Germain.

In addition, Man Utd have reportedly joined Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Karl Hein.

Before the appointment of Amorim, Man Utd were determined to appoint Roberto De Zerbi, according to reports.

Thomas Tuchel was also offered the chance to replace Erik ten Hag this summer.

Amorim, on the other hand, won't be able to start at duties at Old Trafford as his work permit is yet to be approved.

Meanwhile, Ten Hag has been blamed for Ajax's draw against FC Twente.
