Arsenal and Man Utd rival Chelsea for wantaway striker

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United are all interested in Jonathan David, according to a report.

The Lille striker continues to play himself into the spotlight for Europe's elite. David has enjoyed a brilliant start to the season, scoring 13 goals in 18 games so far.

In the Champions League, David scored the winner against Real Madrid, a brace against Atletico Madrid and he also netted in the recent 1-1 draw with Juventus.

The Canadian knows how to hit the target and he knows how to do it against some of the biggest clubs in Europe. Quite convenient, then, that he will be free to talk to his suitors in January.

David's contract expires next year and he has no intention of penning fresh terms at Lille. The 24-year-old dreams of playing in the Premier League and he has no shortage of admirers in England.

David race heats up

According to Corriere dello Sport, Arsenal, Liverpool and Man Utd have all joined the race to sign David. Despite this, the Italian outlet claims that Juventus can still be considered the favourites for his signature.

The Bianconeri have been courting him for some time and are willing to offer as much as €10 million as a signing bonus to make him forget about his Premier League dream. In fact, the Old Lady would even be prepared to pay a fee in January.

Up to now, Chelsea had been considered Juventus' most serious competitor, but it seems that more and more clubs are starting to realise just what a brilliant bargain the Canada international could be.

Like Chelsea, Man Utd had already considered signing David in the summer but they ultimately went for Joshua Zirkzee instead. The interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, meanwhile, is relatively new.
