Pep Guardiola agrees Man City contract extension
Pep Guardiola has reportedly agreed to extend his Manchester City contract by a further 12 months.
The Spaniard’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium was due to expire in June 2025, but he has agreed a new one-year contract extension, with the option of an additional year, according to The Athletic’s Sam Lee and Fabrizio Romano.
Guardiola had been heavily linked with a Man City departure next summer, with sporting director Txiki Begiristain departing, however he is now set to remain at the club until at least 2026.

The former Barcelona and Spain midfielder became Man City head coach back in 2016 and he has helped the Cityzens become the dominant force in English football since his arrival.
Guardiola has led Man City to 18 trophies during his time at the club, including six Premier League titles and the Champions League in 2023.
The Etihad Stadium outfit have won the Premier League in four consecutive years, while Liverpool are the only other club to have tasted glory in the English top flight since Antonio Conte’s Chelsea in 2017.
Guardiola has been linked with the England and Brazil national team jobs over the past few months, but he is set to commit his short-term future to Man City.

What has Pep Guardiola said?
Guardiola has remained tight-lipped over his future at Man City, but he recently admitted that a departure will happen at some point soon.
"I have to decide. I have not taken a decision, when I do I will inform you," he said in October.
"There is no news, I have nothing to add."
Guardiola continued: "I'm pretty sure the club have options when Pep will leave. Sooner or later it will happen and they have to prepare. It will not be a surprise.
"I want to be really convinced it is the best for the club. I will not delay any action thinking it will be a problem for the club. They understand the problems I will have."
