Ruben Amorim outlines HUGE Man Utd ambition
Ruben Amorim has vowed to bring Manchester United back to where the club “belongs” following his arrival at Old Trafford.
The 39-year-old was appointed as Erik ten Hag’s permanent replacement last month, but he is yet to take charge of his first Red Devils game due to a notice period clause in his Sporting CP contract.
However, Amorim has now arrived in England and preparations will begin ahead of his first match as Man Utd head coach against Ipswich Town next week.

The Portuguese tactician is the sixth different permanent manager to take charge of Man Utd since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013 and he is determined to change the Red Devils’ fortunes.
Man Utd have failed to win the Premier League title since Ferguson’s departure, while they have only picked up six trophies during that time.
However, Amorim has stated that he is aiming to end Man Utd’s suffering.

What has Ruben Amorim said?
In his first interview since being appointed by Man Utd, Amorim told MUTV: “I will try to do everything to put this club in the place that it belongs. And I believe a lot that we are going to succeed.”

Amorim was linked with both Liverpool and West Ham United over the summer, but he opted to remain at Sporting until he received the call from Man Utd.
“When Manchester United talked to me, Omar, they told me about their plans,” he admitted.
“It's a real honour because I was the first choice to start that path. So it's a great responsibility. But you feel honoured and excited to be part of that. And we know that if the team plays well and wins games, everything looks so much better and the people really start to believe in the new stadium and new ideas.
“So, we know that we are the engine of the football. Manchester United is the engine of the Premier League in my opinion.”
The Red Devils are currently 13th in the English top flight table, following their worst ever start to a Premier League season, and Amorim has insisted that his focus will be on transforming the team’s identity.
“We know that we need time, but we have to win time. To win time is to win games. But the most important thing for me is identity. So since day one we will start with our identity.
“Of course we are going to prepare the games, but we will focus a lot in our game model. How to play, how to press, these small things, small details. You cannot go 100% on every detail because it will be confusing for the players. So if I have to say one thing, my main goal, my first goal, is identity.
He went on to add: “I don't want to say that we need time because we are a young team. They are prepared. They are prepared to cope with the demands of playing for Manchester United. They should be because they are here.
“We know it will take time and we will try to win time with the games. But we have to start since day one without fear, without thinking that they are not used to playing like this.
“This is not on my mind. They will start on the first day with our idea, no matter what. That's the goal.”
